Since the mid 90s, Chicago has welcomed in spring with the beautiful Michigan Avenue Tulips. Stretching a two mile distance, tens of thousands of bulbs from the Netherlands are planted every fall and meticulously protected throughout winter to create these beautiful showings come April. Their presence has become a staple of downtown Chicago and a sign of optimism as the city shakes off the winter cold.

I chose to edit this image in the style of a painting as it is such a picturesque scene by accentuating the contrast and bringing up the vibrance.
