Exploring Chicagoland and Beyond

My photography journey started by way of flying drones. At that time, I knew very little about photography. As I became more comfortable, I wanted to emphasize the detail in the landscapes I was photographing. After about a year of flying, my father passed and I inherited is DSLR camera. Though I knew I was already interested, it intimidated me and it sat for about a year unused. My wife and I booked an Alaskan cruise and I wanted to make sure I was able to capture the landscape. This was just the push I needed to start understanding more about photography and I started learning how to use my father's camera with only about 9 months to do so. I used the suburbs, a family lake house, and eventually Chicago as my classroom. Unfortunately, the world had different plans and our cruise to Alaska was canceled due to the pandemic, but that didn’t stop my desire to continue this journey as I was already hooked. The extra free time only transcended my expectations and photography continues as a passion.
